What I did last week.

I did some exploring last week and look what I found.  Carlsborg is a tiny little town about a block long.  This building WAS a Post Office at one time, but now it's a glass shop (darn).

I believe the building was moved here from another location years ago.  I'll need to visit the Sequim Historical Society to get the scoop.  The little shop on the left is called The Old Post Office sweets and gifts (Nothing in there is Postal unfortunately).  Cute though, huh?

This building is located downtown Port Angeles.  I run by it four days a week and I finally made my way inside.

Turns out it was a bank in it's day AND the cities Post Office- WHAT!  I can't believe it took me ten years to go check it out.  Are there places in your town that you've never explored?

The building is the temporary home of the Historical Museum and here was the Post Office display.  Not much to see, and I was told to stop taking pictures, so I didn't get a photo of the mail wagon that was down the hall (dang it).  It was a fun outing, anyway.

Lots of letters were created over Mother's Day weekend.

I had the house to myself for 3 days and it was amazing.  I was able to get caught up on my "write back" pile, and that felt good.

Made envelopes out of some cool old children's books that I found thrifting.  Don't you just love this underwater scene?

birds in flight to Donna.

I've been finding cool things at yard sales, too.  These envelopes were made from the pages of a big book called THE MOVIES.  Got it at a yard sale for $2 -love it.

I got Tulips from my neighbor- perfect place to take a picture of this letter.
For all the Mothers out there, I hope you had a beautiful week.  I sure did, and I was able to catch up on some much needed sleep.
