Lily loves to hike with me.

 And I can't think of a better spot to stop and have lunch .

Catching the sunset is the the best part.

I'm so blessed to have this in my back yard.

Outgoing Mail

I've been having soooo much fun with mail art lately.  I think that Fall and all that it brings, really inspires me.

I carved the rubber stamp that you see on these envies- sure had fun with that project (I made it at midnight after the kids were fast asleep).

Inside that BIG skeleton envelope is a silly paper doll (see the 1st picture in this post...She is a Viking skeleton)- of course I sealed the whole thing up before photographing it first. I seem to do that a lot.  I guess it's because I'm SUPER excited to get these little peaches in the mail.

How about this CREEPY spider? Yuck, huh? It's a tape transfer, and it's taped over a picture of Donner Pass (eewwwww).

See a theme?  Yup- I LOVE HALLOWEEN!  The "darker" the better.

I don't know what I'm going to do after October 31st- will it still be acceptable to play with spiders, pumpkins and skeletons after the Holiday?  Day Of The Dead buys me some time- yeah!

Spooky Graffiti!

Had a play date with a friend and her kids, and we went to Fort Warden State Park in Port Townsend, Washington.  The Military Bunkers are SUPER fun to run through and around.  I found some SPOOKY graffiti to snap some shots of.  I think I'm going to carve a rubber stamp.....ya think?

YES....we made our kids walk through the SPOOKY, LOoooong, pitch black, Bunker halls (they only screamed a little bit). The only light we had was me taking pictures with the flash. 

 Builds character...right?

Well..... at least it gives me good fodder for writing letters.... and a new rubber stamp or two.

I'm back!

This is where I get MY "Good mail".

 

 

Port Angeles is a nice town to live in, and my neighborhood is great for kids- there's a park up the street.

I'm all moved in....finally, and I think that I have my Mail Art  situation under control.  I'm making my way through the "write back" pile, and I've even found a bit of time for some collaged PCs.

Hope all of you have had an amazing Summer.  I know that I have.

BUT....I think I'm ready for Fall because today I bought a red coat at Costco, got the ingredients for making Chili, and even turned the heat on tonight for the first time.  OMG!!!

STUFF I MADE.

 

Little, OLD Post Office.

U.S. MAIL-  Isn't it wonderful?  I found a little, OLD  Post Office out on the Olympic Peninsula (Washington State).

This is it.  The Joyce General Store.  It celebrated it's Centennial in 2011.  It has tons of charm, and a really awesome selection of goodies, from local produce to little random gifts, not to mention beer and chips.  Speaking about BEER (which I adore), the store uses those OLD store refrigerators to keep the BEER cold- It's like walking into the 30's (today's prices though..LOL).  All that, AND a POST OFFICE!

These PO Boxes were in the back of the store (not in service).  The store clerk told me that they were pre-Lincoln in age- WOW.  I tried looking up some History on it, but couldn't find any info.

When you walk through the front door of the store, this is what you see-
